Lenovo Legion Y700 Gen 4 Launches With Snapdragon 8 Elite And 165Hz Display

Lenovo has officially launched the Legion Y700 Gen 4, a compact gaming tablet aimed at mobile gamers seeking high performance in a smaller form factor. The device features a powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, paired with either 12 GB or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB or 512 GB of UFS 4.1 storage, making it one of the most capable Android tablets available. A robust vapor chamber cooling system ensures sustained performance during demanding gaming sessions.

The Legion Y700 Gen 4 retains the design of its predecessor, with a rectangular metal body, flat edges, and a matte finish available in black or white. The only notable design change is a simplified rear camera module, dropping the secondary lens found in the previous generation.

One of the tablet’s standout features is its 8.8-inch IPS LCD display. Though compact, it boasts a high 165 Hz refresh rate, 360 Hz touch sampling rate, and a resolution of 3040 x 1904 pixels, offering smooth and responsive visuals. Brightness peaks at a modest 600 nits.

While camera quality is not a focus, the tablet includes an 8 MP front camera and a 50 MP rear sensor, suitable for video calls and document scanning. The 7,600 mAh battery is modest but sufficient for extended playtime, and it supports 68W fast charging.

Additional features include Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, Android 15, and support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (versions not specified). However, major software updates are unlikely, given the track record of the Legion line.

The tablet is launching in China on May 20, priced at 3,299 yuan (~$457) for the 12 GB/256 GB model and 3,799 yuan (~$527) for the 16 GB/512 GB version. A global release is possible, as previous models were sold internationally under the name Lenovo Legion Tab Gen 4.
